Our Mentoring approach is a relational one, working with young people where they are at, but also offering high challenge and high support.

Our Mentoring Programmes (along with Equine Assisted Learning) explore young people’s identity, traits and characteristics, hopes, dreams, goal setting, confidence, self-esteem, self-worth, friendships, communication and body language, anger etc.

We offer a range of different activities working with a Mentor alongside horses, small animals, pottery, arts and crafts, carpentry, horticulture, cookery, welding and more.

JAC mentoring programmes are suitable for young people who have an interest in any of the activities mentioned above, like being outdoors and may be struggling in the educational setting due to behavioural, emotional, social and or learning difficulties / disabilities.

Young people are referred to this programme from Social Services, Schools, Local Education Authorities, Pupil Referral Units, Youth Services and Parents. We can work with young people in small groups, if appropriate, but most of our work is 1-1.

Pricing

Prices can vary according to the needs of the young person or mentor to young person ratio. Most sessions are priced at £30 per hour (for our basic programme) which includes a fee to AQA Unit Award Scheme so the young people can gain certification for their learning.
