We offer a programme of different activities working with a mentor alongside horses, small animals, pottery, arts and crafts, carpentry, horticulture, cookery, welding and more.

Referral information

JAC mentoring programmes are suitable for young people who have an interest in any of the activities mentioned above, like being outdoors and may be struggling in the educational setting due to behavioural, emotional, social and or learning difficulties / disabilities.

Young people are referred to this programme from Social Services, Schools, Local Education Authorities, Pupil Referral Units, Youth Services and Parents. We can work with young people in small groups, if appropriate but most of our work is 1-1.

How much does it cost?

Prices can vary according to the needs of the young person or mentor to young person ratio. Most sessions are priced at £30 per hour (for our basic programme) which includes a fee to AQA Unit Award Scheme so the young people can gain certification for their learning.

Sessions cost us more to deliver than we charge, but we reduce the cost to schools, parents, and councils by about £15 in order to keep sessions affordable and accesible. This means a £30 charge represents a session that costs JAC £45 to provide.
